History

Our company was founded in 2007, immediately after the launch of the iPhone SDK in anticipation of the Software Developer Program that was released by Apple in February of 2008. This puts Appmosphere at the very beginning of the mobile software development revolution as one of the first developers to begin creating apps for the iTunes store. As smart phones have evolved, so have we; Appmosphere has remained at the forefront of all new platforms and technologies. We pride ourselves on being ready to act on your behalf as soon as new technologies become commercially available.

Nathan Ooley: Owner/President

Nathan brings more than 20 years of experience in media and technical consulting. Flagship projects include Enjoymotion.com, which was a revolutionary series of webisodes in the late 90s, and a $1.2MM advertising account with Dish Network. He holds degrees in Graphic Arts and Marketing along with certification in iOS development. Nathan was recognized as a top sales performer during his work at print and advertising companies.

Laura Ooley: CEO

Laura co-founded Appmosphere, along with her husband/business partner, Nathan back in late 2007, just prior to the birth of the iPhone. Laura and Nathan felt this new device would ultimately change “life as we know it”. Laura worked for over 20 years at General Mills as a Consumer Insights Manager. At General Mills, Laura received many awards for her leadership and entrepreneurial spirit. Laura joined Appmosphere full time in early 2012. Laura brings project management and process improvement tools to Appmosphere, as well as guiding our company strategy, and leading many of our client mobile consultation sessions. Laura is a recent recipient of a the “Nothing Ventured, Nothing Gained” award for Minneapolis Women-Owned Business Entrepreneur Award from WomenVenture. In her free time, Laura enjoys watching The Amazing Race, long afternoons on sunny beaches, and traveling.

Todd Andrew Gross: Creative Director/Digital Producer

Todd has worked in media for over 20 years as owner of New World Productions, Inc. and as a collaborative with Appmosphere Inc. since it’s inception.

Believing that information, communication and content are king, quite simply mobile is the future in hand.

Brian Miller: VP Software Development

Brian started out as an Electrical and Environmental Systems Mechanic on the KC-135R in the United States Air Force. Within his first 2 years he was supervising and training other Airmen on all tasks related to their proficiencies. By year 3 he was assigned to the Singapore Air Force in order to train their staff on all tasks required to maintain and repair E&E systems. Brian late became Director of Development and Web Software Engineer at Sound Impressions LLC. One of his major tasks was to create policies and procedures that allowed the company to become dynamically scalable. Re-organizing servers, code management, and process workflow were key to his position and the success of the company. Brian began as a self-taught C and C++ Programmer in 1998. Future languages included HTML, PHP, Java, JavaScript, Objective C, and C#. He is also proficient in database technologies such as MS Access, MSSQL, MySQL, and SQLite. Brian’s biggest assets are troubleshooting and implementing new technologies.

Chris Olson: UX/UI Designer

Chris is an interactive designer and conceptual thinker. He builds interfaces that solve problems and engage users for brands that see value in creative, human-centered design.

Nick Tichawa: Mobile & Marketing Coordinator

A folklorist, herbalist, and novelist, Nick is also mobile strategist, project assistant, and the lead copywriter here at Appmosphere.  To say this man wears many hats would be both an understatement and a falsehood, as he only ever wears one.

It was the straying that found the path direct.

Paige Vigil: General Manager

Paige is a well oiled, detail-oriented, organizing machine…or, in other words, Appmosphere’s General Manager. Paige graduated from the University of MN with a degree in mass communications and journalism and has worked in both TV News and DOOH. She loves learning about new technology and is passionate about ground-breaking social trends. Asked to describe herself in 3 words, Paige would reply, “dedicated, charismatic and nerdy”.

Nick Pappas: iOS Programer

When Nick isn’t mountain biking or mentoring local teens, he’s at work furthering mobile development through the direction of storyboards. He strongly believes that the future is mobile, and strives to bring functionality and simplicity to the mobile field.

Michal Bonczek: Android Developer

Michal, a thoroughly blurry individual, came to Appmosphere with a long history as an expert Web Application Developer. Fluent in Java, PHP, JavaScript, and LAMP, Michal has proven himself as a master Android developer (despite his handicap). Conversations with Michal can be difficult when he begins to fade out, but just blink a few times and he’ll become more distinct. On weekends Michal models for those out-of-focus family photos your grandma takes during holidays. Michal holds a B.S. Degree in Computer Science.
